My kids have more time non-reving in first class than you have...
And I love the classics like "I'm rubber, you're glue..." |

Actually it sounds like something the guy I would slam click on would say.
While I cherry picked from his post, my compliment really went to his entire effort. But it doesn't mean you have to like it. |
Funniest slam I ever witnessed was by a (former Navy) 727 Captain, to the (former Marine) Engineer. (I was the F/O)
This engineer had been kind of stiff the entire trip, no jokes, sat at attention, not much personality. The Captain was one of my favorites to fly with, great guy, very competent and very funny. It's about day 3, we are on a long leg, and it's gotten kind of quite after an hour or so. The Captain turns around to the Engineer, who is still sitting bolt upright. He asked him, "So... which branch of the military were you in?" "I'm a Marine sir!" was the reply, but dead serious. Captains said, "Oh, couldn't get in the Navy huh?". I laughed my arse off, and still do when I recall the look on the Engineers face! |
I really enjoyed Erdude's schooling, on style points alone.
In terms of substance, I'm not endorsing blacklisting people who go to work for the ME3, especially since it might be more intelligent to hire them. I don't think there would be anything illegal or immoral about hiring a competitor's pilots. As far as blacklisting goes, the abuses by the respective carriers have not been catalogued until now, and may yet be remedied/mitigated. A guy who went there before, was going for a better job. A guy who goes there in the future, assuming the allegations are validated AND not remedied, would be deliberately going to work for a company that cheats US pilot interests. Like a scab. At that point, you could reassess any official position, and blacklist if warranted. First, we need the respective airlines and governments to actually address the problem. |
I dated a F/A who wanted me arrested for assault with a dead weapon.
