Default Joining a major from a Chinese carrier

Hi all,

I finally have an interview lined up here in the US with a major carrier and have been emailed the PRIA forms required to complete.

Can anybody here give me some guidance regarding PRIA background checks having worked for a Chinese airline.

Specifically, do the Chinese carriers respond to FAA requests or do you list the agency (PARC in this case) as the employer and do the agency's help out with the requests?

And on the subject of PRIA, do you fill out the forms for a part 91 delivery flight of 1 days work? Or are they only interested in your airline history for background checks?

thanks for any guidance,

regards

In fact, I am interested to know how PRIA background checks work for any foreign airline in the past 5years.

Every country I have worked in has privacy laws that will not permit the release of training info so how do you move from a foreign carrier back to the US to work?

with the disclaimer that I am no expert (or know much), and it was a while ago, here is my experience:

I worked in Europe for a wet-lease operator between 99-05 that gave me a full copy of my records when I left, then started work for a 135 operator in the US in 05, and since have been hired by a mayor in 13. As far as I can tell not much effort was made by either to contact the ACMI to confirm my background. The 135 called the ACMI (I know this because the asked one of their European pilots to call as they weren't sure anyone there would speak American......).
So FWIW, in your situation I would :
-Contact the company that is interviewing you and ask for guidance.
-Failing any input there use PARC as the Agency under the assumption they are far more likely to reply to a US request for info.
-Put the one day job in there under the general rule that it is better to not look like you are hiding any info.

Good luck with the interview, welcome back to the US (hopefully), feel free to contact me for anything if you think I can help.

I got hired at a US legacy last year and came from a carrier based in HKG(Not mainland I know, but similar situation).

The law only requires employers to SEND the pria forms. Whether they get them back is not your future employers responsibility. I brought this up with my current carrier after I was hired and was told that they don't ever expect to get them from foreign carriers. Hong Kong has very sensitive privacy laws, and when my prior company received them, the asked me if I would allow release and I did.

Good luck.

I have since received some info the same as yours. As long as they request the info it keeps the feds happy.
