Air travel is going to be one of the first and most serious casualties of the Trump administration.
Look for international air travel to and from the US to dry up in very short order. I see massive order cancellations and furloughs.
God help us!

I do appreciate the enthusiasm, and "patriotism" but can u please explain the "Great country it once was?" Are you talking from 1776 to late 1800s while slavery was legal? Or 1940s to 1960s? Or what exactly do u mean?
I'm sure many of us would like to hear this

I think it would be smart for most of the relatively junior mainline pilots to get their resumes up to date. I think there will be a lot of government jobs opening in the near future while I imagine mainline carriers will start shrinking.

By all accounts a Trump presidency will likely be worse for the industry then Bush was! Markets are already tanking as they try to price in a level of economic and political uncertainty that has no precedent. The closest parallel is the morning of September 11, 2001. Nobody knew what the future held but everybody knew it wasn't good and would take a long time to settle down. The dollar will decline in value, increasing the price of oil, international trade will suffer and in turn international business flying and therefore widebody jobs, flag of convenience carriers like NAI will be welcomed in (competition is good right?), I fully expect age 67 and for the 1500 hour rule to be overturned, all of which serves to devalue our profession. Some carriers may furlough as they pull down capacity, others will just slow or stop hiring. It's likely orders will be canceled, postponed, or sold to Middle East carriers.
I'd hold off on buying that new house or boat for a bit.
