According to that site I would also be crazy to go to a top notch European legacy like British Airways. What is considered a good job on PPRUNE? I have yet to find one.

US Legacies, Fed Ex, UPS, and Southwest

It's a source of information NEdude. It's no secret about Norwegian and the difference between the 737 and 787 ops and the companies attempt to make them sign onto new terms and conditions. Much like APC, PPrune is a good source but yes, you have to sift through the whining and winging.

Education not perspiration for those seeking the holy grail.

What about the Euro side of the Atlantic?

It is a source of information much like Ms. Cleo was a source of information for investment advice. Anonymous online forums are terrible. Personal networking is far more accurate and valuable. Since getting my EASA ATPL and looking for work on the Euro side of the Atlantic I have spoken with dozens of pilots from a wide range of airlines such as Norwegian, SAS, easyJet, Ryanair, British Airways, Aer Lingus, Germania, Avion Express, WOW Air, Brussels Airlines, Cimber, Jet Time, Small Planet, Thomas Cook Scandinavia, and Atlantic Airways. A five minute conversation with each of those pilots was far more valuable, and accurate, than five hours on PPRUNE.

For the record every Norwegian 787 guy I spoke with was quite happy. The same cannot be said for the guys on the 737 side. But the 787 guys seemed to be quite happy.

Is that according to PPRUNE? Remember this is regarding what is perceived as good jobs by the folks on PPRUNE?

Not sure why some of you guys keep wasting your time arguing with the NAI apologists. Apparently some will never understand or realize the threat to quality North American and European Legacy pilot jobs this outfit is.

The apologists don't have North American or European legacy jobs so they clearly don't care. They applied and never heard a peep, or their interview went poorly resulting in a TBNT. Thus, their job isn't threatened and the envy in them wants to see those with a better situation than they have falter.

Or it could be the recognition of the fact claims of a new carrier threatening the quality of legacy jobs has been endless and for the most part baseless for 40+ years. The U.S. legacy airlines, the big 3 plus Alaska and Hawaiian, employ more pilots now than Alaska, Braniff, Continental, Delta, Eastern, Hawaiian, National, Northwest Orient, Pan Am, TWA, and United all did 40 years ago. They do this despite the competition from Southwest, America West, Republic (the original), PeoplExpress, the second Midway, JetBlue, and Virgin America, all of which were accused of "dragging down the profession". At some point it becomes like the 'Boy Who Cried Wolf'.

I will point out once again that Virgin America was called by many the single biggest threat to the profession we have ever seen. Pilots who went there were compared to scabs and accused of undercutting the legacy pilots quality of life. Now Virgin America pilots are proud ALPA members and as of earlier this month, employed by a legacy airline. Pilots at PeoplExpress were accused of the same thing 35 years ago and now those that are still flying are senior captains at United. Southwest had the same accusation hurled at them and for most of the past 15 years have been the highest paid pilots in the States. It just gets tiring and old hearing the same empty arguments over and over again...
