At the time, the flight was the main event! Now it is just an awful inconvenience and a commodity.

What a shame, thanks for sharing that story. It was definitely the END of an era.

Another one of those "I remember exactly where I was when I heard the news" moments.

And I still do.

Hard to believe it's already been 25 years.

Thank you very much for sharing this story.

Following PanAm into BDL, "Delta slow to min approach speed, PanAm is doing a Cat 2 simulation." "Is 33 avail for Delta?" "Yep." PanAm follow Delta to the gates." It is a bidness, man, a bidness.......

Default A Reroute

An old PanAm story: CA gets a midnight phone call in his third-world layover hotel ... "This is the station manager. Get your crew outside right away and meet our van. Carlos will take you across the border, because the rebels are almost at the city limits!"

That might be due to there being no TSA lines, wherein you're asked to remove your shoes, belt, wallet, phone, earrings, etc. and forced to go through a porno-scanner. I can't imagine why someone wouldn't wear a 3-piece suit on an airline today...
