So there ARE 'old, bold pilots'! This man was the exception to the rule - appeared to be performing a split-S at 90 years old.
Too many accomplishments and contributions to aviation and space exploration to mention here (apart from his famous "Earthrise" photo).

Everybody is going to die sometime. Why would you want to take someone else with you if you did? Life expectancy at age 90 for males is only 3.7 years. Might as well enjoy every minute of what little time you have left.

True. We don’t know. There won’t be a note. Don’t look forward to it but proper form demands respect for those left behind. That being said, no way I’d look a a can like Apollo and step one foot in there. Brave chit.
