I was in Carl's new hire class at Air Midwest, and knew him as a stand-up guy. We celebrated passing the systems test with a trip to hooters, he always had a way with the ladies... You will be missed my friend.

Epic. Guys like this are the reason I love flying. Carl I didn't know you but I sure would've loved sharing a cockpit with you. Lots of Buds in the fridge. I'll be drinking to his memory.

hey guys. Carl was my cousin and I am really moved by all the comments on here. Especially the little stories are very warming. It makes me even more upset that I didn't meet him last time he was home in Ireland but that smile of his will always live in my memory.

Amazing, his passing has been in my thoughts since I heard. I don't have any specific stories of Carl, only of many morning "union meetings" spent at Charlies and Madison Ave Bakery in the A concourse at KPIT. I think both stores are closed now and the concourse where we parked the beechs is walled off, place is a ghost town. Carl would find that sad. Anyhow, Carl always had something to add to the day. Funny guy with a pleasant personality no matter how bad the situation was. Hyperboy said it best to our friend, Flaps Up, Yaw Damp On.

Funny that you should mention that, because he and I were in KPIT a week and a half ago and he mentioned how sad it was that the commuter terminal was closed and walled off. I only flew with the guy once, but I will miss him all the same. A stand up guy and a great captain; Carl embodied all that an airline pilot should be. Only one four day trip together, and I heard him same a few times how great of a job it is that we have. This despite having all the crap slung at us over four days. His seat will be a tough one to fill.

Godspeed Carl...

I really enjoyed messing with Carl. I am sure those that have verizon like I do know he would always confirm with you that you still had verizon just as the conversation started cause he was a man that enjoyed talking to his friends and family on the phone and burned through his monthly minutes. There was always the time (twice) he would call and forget to confirm, so we would talk for an hour peak time and at the end of the call I would let him know how happy I was with my new sprint PCS phone plan. At that point I would not hear anything, until I told him I was kidding and we would start laughing. Carl, I will miss your calls buddy. I can't thank you enough for the great memories.

I have to say this one hit me a little hard too. I worked with Carl at AMW as well and I remember when I was a new hire getting ready for the sim in ICT and he was a great help to me and some of my class mates. In fact I found him to be such a great guy that I wrote a letter of recomendation for him here at CMP and also talked to him several hours on the phone letting him know anything I could to make sure this great guy got the job here. He was hired and was in a class right after me. I haven't seen him as much since we are in different domiciles, but I will miss running into him in the crew room up north.

Carl and his family have been in my thoughts since I heard about this unfortunate incident. Everytime I think about it I get that lump back in my throat. I have never flown with a nicer guy.

Default Carl

It was great meeting some of the Compass pilots up in MSP for the viewing. It was great to tell each other our stories. Carl clearly left an imprint on so many peoples lives.

Carl and I flew plenty of bids together. We always had fun and were all about the Passengers. I am glad to have met himmand kept in touch with him when he left for Compass. This one hit home very close to home. I will never forget all my great times with Carl.

Fly West my friend one day we will join you.....
