I knew a Bart Gault at Santa Monica in 1979, (A really top notch guy)....It saddens me to think this could be he. But If so, could you tell me where he flew after that and how his career wound up. I would hope he had a good career.

Unfortunately that is he... We worked together years ago. Bart had a good career. He ultimately made a career primarily as a contract pilot. I lost track of him as well until recently. As of late, he was flying a contract, Canadair Challenger, job in Africa. During a trip stateside for recurrent it was discovered he had the very first signs of a medical problem. I don't believe the issue was related to his locale/environment. I don't recall the exact issue, though it's onset was very quick and progressed rapidly. It was not treatable and ultimately did him in. After the issue presented itself, he never returned to flying and remained stateside until he passed. Bart was a great guy, a pilots pilot and very professional. Very sad indeed...
