Cash Reserves

Regarding the LOA to move the base without a rebid. ALPA was credited $$$ towards the total amount of concessions in return for allowing this move. The NWA MEC chairman (accompanied by Duane Woerth) gave up double CA augmentation CONTRARY to the explicit instructions of the MEC. It was given up at about 1am in the morning on the day the company threatened to file Chapter 11. We then got to vote on the concesions package at about 3-4am. We later had to buy back the double CA augmentation by extending the reduced payrates for a longer period of time.

You are correct - "No bump - no flush" is currently just a concept, nothing more. I have seen numerous references to it as if it was already written in our contracts. Until the SLI and related details are finalized it is nothing more than a noble goal.
Regarding the thread title, Cash Reserves, it appears DAL just spent a little more of that cash by increasing the 777LR order by two more - now thats the way to spend your cash.

I doubt we'll ever see anymore of those. 777LRs, yes, 777-300s probably, but with the capability and efficiency of the 777s, I don't see DL ever ordering a 4 engine airplane.

DAL current assets $7.167 BIL cash flow for year $600 MIL. NWA current assets $5.24 BIL cash flow for year $ 276 MIL. Its from YAHOO finance and its just the facts, is not about who going to rescue who. Also a Birde told me that not much will change in flying till there is one operating certificate probably about a year from now.

That is probably the way that it will end up, but there will be aircraft movement. If there is a way to make a financial argument to move crew they will do it. It is all about the cash savings. I know it is being discussed, but 35K per pilot is a lot of dough. It equates to a training event or so.
