While the regulars here understand the back and forth, comments are taken out of context when posted to other forums and those readers react differently.

Don't know about you guys, but I can think of a lot of things to do rather than argue ad nauseum about the same thing.

I agree completely! I got drawn into the "you guys made stuff up to con the 3 wise men" argument on another thread and for that I'm very sorry on several levels.

I was just so shocked at the argument that I didn't really put up very well thought out responses in the beginning and that only inflamed those guys. Oh well, live and learn.......

What scares me is where else are they posting that? It hasn't seemed to have hit the National ALPA forum but it's got to be on the DALPA forum. So, no matter how this thing turns out now, we'll be hearing in the bar that "you guys got that because you cheated".

All I want is a fun place to work and guys crazy enough to laugh at my stupid jokes. Is that too much to ask? We are all in this shotgun wedding together now. I even spent the extra money for an Abott (sp?) uniform so I will fit in on the airport curb. Trust me, for all the whinning I did when this first kicked off.......I'm on board now. Lets go kick JAL and British Air's butts.

Excellent. Don't worry about the head grounds keeper, he's a real dumb ass. After all...he hired me.

I called a NWA friend and he believes they have about 70 left now so there are 8 more to be parked in the next month. He has heard of no plans not to park those aircraft. On a somewhat related note Delta is bringing 4 MD-88's out of storage to replace RJ flying.

I had heard that they were at the number. If they aren't, then that sucks.

On a somewhat positive note isn't the nwa pilot group understaffed when they switch over to your staffing model? I heard it was around 10% short so that should cover those 8 airplanes when nwa makes the switch.

That's good news to hear that 4 88's are being brought back.

Ok. Now there will HAVE to be a confidentiality agreement attatched with the lease. Please sign and return it and keep quiet about my "habits." :D

All I know is that every time a guy who turns to me, whether pre DL or NW, and starts to tell me how they got screwed in the merger, I'm packing up my bags at the first opportunity and removing myself from the trip.

Ha! You may never fly, or should I say complete, another trip again.

I agree! But, we may never fly again as has been pointed out:D

But, the real deal as I've said before, is I'll never talk about all this to a post merger new hire. I've sat through enough red/green discussions to last a lifetime, the new guys won't get any of this and will just want it to end.

Make note of the following.
You do not have a sense of humor.

The vast majority of my posts are defending the latest negative BS about the former NWA posted by some DAL pilot purporting to show "facts." Here's a deal, stop all the former NWA bashing and that will cut down on the posts here. If you don't have something positive to say, just shut up. It's not like we all don't have enough negativity going on right now.

Carl
Right back at you!

Now that is a great idea! We shoul all have to take a blood oath once the list comes out - no talking about how we were "all" screwed.

We want our retirements as you got yours a while back. Fair is fair. Stop going for ours after you got yours. Secondly, our 9s coming out of the desert and our tightly run ship is paying you back for your European over expansion. Stop shooting for the moon.

Can you produce any source for nines coming out of the desert. They are going to the desert almost weekly. In fact I had posted here that we would be down to 62 nines by the end of the year. I was in error. It now appears the actual number is 58. Next year however the rate of retirements slows and they expect only 14 to go to the desert. Lets hope that is true. It would be great if they decided to keep more or bring them back however no one expects that to happen who is involved with fleet planning at Delta. The costs on keeping the nines are to high. No nine will undergo the required aging aircraft inspections when they time out. They are far to expensive. It would be much cheaper even with oil at 50 dollars a barrel to purchase or lease new aircraft.
The real issue again as I have posted is how do we get this flying back at the mainline. For the moment it looks bad. The nines are being replaced with 76 seat RJ's. The long promised 100 seater at Delta is still a pipe dream. By extending the contract 3 years we have given up a chance to force the issue before all the nines are gone. Another reason I voted no that has nothing to do with NWA and everything to do with the contract being a bad deal for both NWA and Delta pilots.

Your over expansion in Europe will cost more than a few 9s going away. But that will not matter...
You know perfectly well that with the price of oil we will be adding 9s and not taking them away. Get over yourself.

Dude, Ive been reading you guys go back and forth, and am interested in where you are getting your data. I don't doubt you, but you have conspicuously ignored requests for the sourcing of your posts. At the risk of having to get over myself too, can you just share with us where you are getting your data. I'm just interested as to how you two could have such different positions. Disclaimer: I have no dog in the DAL/NWA issue , but your new company affects us all.

Denny Crane 11-28-2008 06:35 AM

Capn,

I just watched a classic movie last night called "Yours, Mine, and Ours." One of these days you are going to realize there is no more "Yours" and "Mine," there is just "Ours" now 'cause we are all part of the same big happy family now.

I believe the most recent expansion was announced after the DCC so that makes us one company and they are still going into Europe, Africa, and Asia. If the powers that be think we have over expanded in Europe, then why are we going to fly there more?

I'd like to see your reference for the above stated claims in regards to the Europe flying and the 9 flying.

Denny

And this from the guy who said a thousand NW pilots were going to retire. Your track record is not so hot on these boards.

Wheres your cheery spirit you mentioned earlier....thats what I thought.

PS
I passed along what was told to me...if you took it as fact then you are even shorter on IQ than I imagined.

OK, now I get it....no real credible sources. By the way, if you want anyone to believe you in the future, I wouldn't tell them that they are short on IQ for taking what you say as fact.

So how do you come to the conclusion that I took what you said as fact? It must be a pretty powerful tool - that ability to just make up your own facts and draw conclusions where no conclusions should be drawn.
I cant compete with that. I yield sir, to your superior rapier sharp wit and unlimited imagination!
