US Airways + Jetblue + Frontier

I don't think Jetblue or Frontier would necessarily go for it, but it would create the grand LCC that Airways wanted to become and restore lost market share in a lot of areas that Airways used to have a lot more.

I hope not things are bad enough at JB, we don't want to take a massive pay cut.

Airline mergers will continue until there is only 1 airline. At that point anybody who tries to start one will be crushed!

My $.02,

DAL will take Hawaiian or Alaska
UAL will take whichever DAL doesn't
AA/LCC will take Jet Blue
Spirit buys Frontier
VA is anyone's guess
SWA deals with the merger at hand for a while

SWA merges with the victor and tries to staple them to the bottom of their list.

Maybe Hawaiian and Alaska will merge to form one airline. They could then merge with Southwest. By that time the Southwest/ Air Tran merger will be done. That would give Southwest a strong presence in the Alaskan and Hawaiian markets.

No more stapeling...seniority lists now must be merged via arbitration because of the McCaskill-Bond Ammendment passed because of the AA/TWA debacle.
