No, and sort of. Now we get a monthly stipend towards our iPad costs - $40/month, but really that only translates into about $0.10 more per diem an hour. Still agreed on the last point, we're perennially behind everybody else and with Endeavor's new TA only lagging further. The passing of the contract has been a catalyst for many to move on, but simultaneously spurred hiring at the same rate. We'll see if one starts pulling away.
To the original subject, more new hire bonuses are shameful and go against the collective bargaining nature of the pilot group.

As far as signing bonuses, Mesa wouldn’t be paying them if other ALPA regionals weren’t. If ALPA wanted to stop signing bonuses, that would make its way into the TA’s of the regionals. It would be tough to put that genie back in the bottle since nearly all regionals rely on the signing bonus to recruit pilots since FO wages are so low.
