Well, one thing is for sure... JO is looking to get into the European market one way or the other... that plus the cargo venture, leads me to think if he’s lost faith in the current business model.

That’s exactly what I think. DL and AA have shown what their future regional model is and there is only so much UA flying to go around.

If we have money to do this we have money to fix our planes. The US pilot group gains nothing from purchasing a foreign carrier.

I think the idea here is he is purchasing a foreign flag to do domestic flights under. See current ALPA petition to Congress. Mesa is throwing in the towel on being a regional carrier. Re-inventing itself.

Probably money from going public. We definitely should have waiting on that contract he has more than enough money to pay us market rates now. And by the time we are back up for negotiations he’ll have the money spent.

It's not the first time mesa's expressed interest in this. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-02-20/u-k-s-flybe-attracts-counter-bid-from-american-air-backed-mesa

His past screw ups with Brussels express will kill every chance. Ask Richard Branson from Virgin Airlines about it. He used to own BE
Not a good past for investors to pour money
