Bidding for it doesn't mean you will get it. I believe only a certain percentage get LCR every month.....and that percentage is based on "normal" operations.

remnd me of some of the crashes these guys who “couldn’t cut it” at Mesa are responsible for?

As a former Mesa guy, I get the Mesa bashing gets old, but many of the guys I flew with were there after failing out of another places’s training program.

And to directly answer your question: Atlas 3591

The FO who responded to the plane going into TOGA mode by thinking it was stalling then promptly lowering the nose to nearly 50 (that’s not a typo) degrees nose down.

He had been at a bunch of regionals and left due to personal reasons before training was completed. The initial accident finding wasn’t flattering at all.

He failed at those and never made it to the line, he was here flunked upgrade at Mesa then went to Atlas Mesa instructors were interviewed about him. As previously said it wasn’t good.

And he wasn’t here anymore we always have to answer for that but no one ever brings up CommutAir crashing 12 months ago.

He wasn’t there because he got mad at the training dept for busting him on upgrade and left.

As for answering... yeah, Commutair didn’t kill anyone in a crash caused by total and complete lack of basic piloting ability.

As for a response to the original post.

That’s the airline business. As you know, your seniority dictates almost everything, and the company doesn’t do what’s best for one pilot, they maximize profit.

I got hired where I am almost 2 years ago. Moved from Houston to the northeast to live in base at my own personal lifestyle and financial cost. Now they’ve parked 2 1/2 of the types of acft we had in this base. I’ll probably be displaced to either a different plane or a different base that requires me to commute or move (if I don’t get furloughed).

That’s the deal. Would it make more sense to keep me here in base since I drive to work, yup. Is that what was negotiated between the the union and company, nope. Such is life.
