When will training restart

Is there any insight on when training might restart?

Will cadets still have priority when it does restart?

How much is Mesa really flying right now?

Is going to training before the end of the year a possibility?

Has there been any word on Furlough at Mesa yet?

I'll attempt to honestly answer your questions:

Training restart - while those in the training house say "soon" I see no movement in that direction.

Cadet priority - I have no idea, but the minimums on the website changed to ATP, CURRENT IFR and CURRENT Landings. If you don't have that, expect nothing.

Mesa flying is down to about 40% of pre-Covid on the American side and 60% on the United side. Expecting further reductions in the short term.

Training by year end? Unlikely.

Furlough - even if we pick up all of GoJets flying (training center rumor) and lose nothing more I see us as seriously overstaffed at least in the short term. When AA and UA scope kicks in in March I see us shrinking further. I don't see how we avoid furloughs.
Company says no furloughs planned.

Final point - I hope I'm wrong. A vaccine generally accepted and distributed that actually works could change things radically.

A sudden onset of common sense could as well. Neither are very likely.

During recurrent, I was told by the leader of the E-JET training department that, “Everyone that did not finish IOE, will have to complete all training from DAY 1!” Mandated by the FAA.

.

the gojet planes are probably going to AWAC no other reason for mgmt to put them on the certificate unless they had been told they have a pretty good shot of getting them.

And what happens to Go Jet? Are they going under?

that would be my guess, just like if the planes went to Mesa. Word is that hulas is looking to get out and his kids don’t want the business. Don’t kill the messenger, could all be b.s. but I wouldn’t be surprised if he told United to find someplace for the planes like he did with TSA. Hence United putting a bug in AWACS ear.

AWAC put 700 on certificate to court UA and stay relevant in the running BUT AW pilots would have to have differences training and landings whereas Mesa can walk into gojets airplanes and fly them tomorrow at no extra cost to Mesa or UA.

I wish AW could take the 700s. I don’t relish getting jr assigned to a base like ERW or ORD but I don’t think they can get up to speed with the 700/550 fast enough. Adding it to the certificate is just a small part of the battle. YV could fly them tomorrow. We have excess CRJ 700 qualified pilots on property, current and ready to fly. If GJ pulled the plug Oct 1 YV could step in instantly.
