That might have been the case in the old contract, no more like that. I think they release you 6 hours early on your last reserve day.

Don’t knock those NO FLY list captains. If it wasn’t for one of those pricks, I wouldn’t have gone to the hotel that night and filled out applications for another job. I have to thank one phenomenaly assholic PHX prick for getting me a substantial raise and protecting me from furlough. PHX No Fly list. The best recruiting tool other companies could ever have.

I never actually flew with him because I was warned to No Fly him before I have to endure a trip. There were five on my list but the one that pushed me over the edge claimed to have an Emirates to Skywest to Mesa Pedigree.

PHX is a fun place full of perfectly reasonable CA, who see no issue shutting down the APU in the middle of summer in DFW and leaving every single light on in the cockpit with every screen on full brightness with the air vents closed and the sunshade not in the windows. Come on guys. Gate air in DFW= broken, always has always will. Leave the damn APU’s on.
