Not the first time. They had a failed regional airline in Asia for awhile, and don’t forget about Go! in Hawaii.

It doesn’t sound like they actually have a partnership over there but instead putting money towards a certificate so a CPA could be possible. I have a hard time imaging someone over there needs lift and is looking to get locked into a multi-year contract to get it.

Considering no more CRJ900’s are being made, they need to find used ones or they plan to use there current fleet.. not good for USA based Mesa Pilots..

This is not a good post. It’s just feeding or attempting to start some fear. Whether from ignorance or trolling I don’t know. Mesa is making money with the current contracts. They’re not going to shift assets from making money to somewhere when it’s unknown. There are plenty of options in getting aircraft, especially right now.

Stop fear mongering. You don’t even work here.

1-B Scope

1-B-1 Except as provided in Section 1-B-2 below, all present and future flying of any form performed in and for the service of the Company shall be performed by pilots on the Mesa Air Group Pilot System Seniority List in accordance with the terms and conditions of this Agreement. The phrase "present and future flying of any form performed in and for the service of the Company" includes without limitation all such flying 1) on the Company's aircraft (whether leased or owned), or 2) under the Company's operational control, including wet leases and contracting for other carriers or entities (government, military or commercial).

1-B-2 Notwithstanding Section 1-B-1 above, the Company may assign or contract out revenue flying for a period of sixty (60) days during the term of this Agreement if a) such conduct is necessary to accomplish the needs of the service of the Company, and b) the Company does not have sufficient aircraft and pilots to perform the revenue flying assigned or contracted out, and c) no pilot on the Mesa Air Group Pilots System Seniority List is furloughed, or remains on furlough, while the company contracts out revenue flying.

1-B-3 The Company shall not create or acquire an "alter ego" to avoid the terms and conditions of this Agreement.

A joint venture in which Mesa holds a 49% stake. 49% is not operational control.

Mesa will sell -900s to the new company, which puts them both outside of Mesa ownership
and outside of “operational control”. Mesa will earn 49% of the profit generated on aircraft that it already sold.

Don’t forget I highly doubt a significant portion of the Mesa pilot group holds authorization to work in Europe. And I don’t see the company paying for work visas.

Mesa is a for-profit publicly traded company. JOs only job is to make money for shareholders. If he could more make money by selling all the planes and just doing lav service for Spirit, that’s what Mesa would do.

(PS I hope I’m wrong, but that’s what it looks like to me)
