Mesa or SkyWest (and why)

I have a CJO from Mesa, and expect one at the end of the week from SKyWest.

Why one over the other?

Whatever has the best base for you.

mesteve 10-03-2022 10:41 AM

We’re moving to base since we’re in CT at the moment…

OK so answer this, would you rather get paid $100/hr or $90/hr?

Mesa, more money and backup flow agreements if you don't get picked up somewhere else.

I would have to say Mesa if they have a base that is close to or at home for you. QoL may be a tiny bit less desirable in various areas than SkyWest but you have the benefits of more money and a flow to United. However if SkyWest lets you work from home and Mesa does not, SkyWest for sure.

not necessarily. There’s much more to an airline than a $10 per hour difference. Every regional airline is paying dress up right now and is in full desperation mode. Some catfish you more than others…
so, go to the OP, go to a place where you can drive to work. All things equal, in terms of bases. Go to SkyWest hands down.

Why? What are the differences? That’s the information I’m trying to get to.

That information is readily available all over these forums. Read the Mesa forums. Read the Skywest forums. Read the APC profiles. Use the search tool (advanced search). Everyone’s circumstances are different. Figure out the pros and cons based on your own personal situation. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. You’d be better served researching all this for yourself rather than asking to be hand fed this information; which may or may not be accurate from poster to poster.

While normally I would agree with you, all of the badmouthing of Mesa seems to have mostly dried up with the pay increase a month ago, so there isn’t any current info which leads me to believe it was mostly/all pay related.

My inquiry is to prove/disprove my theory.
