Default ATP/CTP Course at ATP Irving

Anyone been to the ATP/CTP course lately at ATP Training Center in Irving TX? I know the course isn't designed to prepare you for the written test - but is there time to study (via Sheppard) while at the course, even if after the CTP class each day? It didn't look like there was any testing associated with the CTP course so does that mean nothing to really do outside of classroom/sim time? Are you usually in class/sim most/all of the day? Any details greatly appreciated.

Its been a while since I did it.

I studied the questions DURING the atp ctp class. Use Sheppard. The atp ctp course prepares you for absolutely nothing. It's summer school for pilots.

Its literally death by PowerPoint. You, and everyone around you, will go insane in the membrane from the amount of slides.

ATP CTP was horrible. lmao. It truly is death by powerpoint. They proudly tell you it's 3000+ powerpoint slides. I never want to do ATP CTP again. Luckily, every airline indoc and systems class is exactly the same as ATP CTP. Powerpoint. Slides. To answer your question, this isn't the instructors' first time teaching this class. They know what you're doing. So don't do the sheppard air during the class, you'll get yelled at. Yes you technically can do it after class every day but in my opinion you're going to be pretty wiped out from class. Start studying the sheppard air before ATP CTP. I got above a 90 on the test but wasn't able to put as much time into it as I should've. I was at ATP CTP November this year. Instructor Mike S was great.

I just finished this class at this location a week ago. They flat out said “No studying Sheppard Air in class due to another FAA Audit would/could pull their teaching certification for the ATP/CTP class”. So if you want to study Sheppard Air, you do it at the hotel when out of class. So skip partying/going out and study.
