Mesa 5.0 Whats the latest

Who cares if someone wants to be a lifer at a regional? If it works for them, then have at it. Those trying to get out of the regionals should be greatful that some people have no desire to go to a legacy since they typically have much more experience and they aren't competing for the same jobs.

C5 had told their pilots on multiple occasions that they put the 170 on their certificate so that they could fly it for United and that United has decided on multiple occasions that they don't want C5 to fly it for them. At the time, the argument was that they were scoped out, but the recent announcement of Skywest bringing on 20+ more 175s for United and C5 getting bumped out of DEN is kinda proof that United just isn't interested in the C5 170

but you also have to start over on FO pay.. numbers may be less for someone in there late 30’s or older going to a major.. have to say i have more money in my 401k then most my friends at the majors. All the ups and downs of the industry a slow and steady Regional pace may be better for some..

First year FO pay isn’t “low” by any standards anymore. I mean if you can’t make $130k work and you’ve been making $160 / hr as a year 2-3 captain at mesa, it’s more of a personal budgeting problem . Gotta go to an airline that sells their own tickets .

Was just talking about this a few days ago with a friend in the Crewroom. One of my former coworkers was a Check Airman at a regional. Great Schedule w/That check-Airman bump. Had the motorcylces, Cabin up north, home almost every night. My guy was laid back about the whole thing. I asked why he didn't go to a legacy..."Why? To give this up? I got it made in the shade!" He lived in base had a 20 minute commute. It worked for him. QOL is so important. I respect all of ya'll that value the QOL versus being stuck in LGA on a 319 just to get a legacy.
