I am probably the only CA on furlough. When I was hired, they needed Captains pretty badly and most of the new hires did not have ATP minimums. I did, put in my bid and was awarded an upgrade after 4 months with the company.

All the not so good information was available about MESA when you went there too.

I see it as an opportunity to either fix or delete one of the worst corporate cultures in the industry.
And delete the paychecks of lots of good people.

I doubt the percentage of defectives is any lower at SKW.

Suppose you told your neighbor every so often that he should obtain homeowner's insurance, yet he ignores your wise counsel. Then one day his house burns down. Would a decent person yell out their window, "I told you to get some insurance, you defective bastard!"? Or would a decent person go over and offer some help and sympathy?

A mesa paycheck? They'll better off somewhere else, even if they don't know it yet.

It's a little harder to slip through.

This wasn't about insurance, it was about bad wiring, old dry shingles, open flames, gas leaks, and no smoke detectors. But lets just wrap this conversation up, feel free to have the last word. Out.

Actually it wasn't, but I accept responsibility for my decision (and paid the price in seniority). I made the assumption that any airline would generally honor their contracts and accord their employees basic dignity. Bad assumption...

Actually, it was. Anybody that's been paying attention knows that MAG's financials have always been shaky at best. Especially with a figure like JO at the helm.

Good point. How long was that "18 month pay freeze" thingy at your shop again? The statement about making an assumption of honoring contracts and accord their employees with dignity extends to legacies as well.

Oops, forgot. The pilot group there has NO legal recourse what so ever if the company decides to change their mind on something concerning an agreement or something in the "handbook".

To those interested in MAG Chapter 11 information,

I'm sorry this thread attracts those afflicted with Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

If anyone has any information on the MAG bankruptcy please post. If not, take your insecurities elswhere.

I find it peculiar when former mesa employees (LAMA's) look upon their former co-workers with an air of arrogance. (with comments of "defective" and the like ***)

It seems they forget that their current position in the industry is due in large part to the experience gained at mesa.

People need to remember where they came from and keep it in perspective that's all.

Gentlemen,

Your beating a dead horse with RickAir. It’s obvious he holds a grudge not only against Mesa but the pilot group as well. Just look at the 25% of his nine thousand some post’s; all Mesa bashing. I find it funny that he wastes his time to vent on APC with his outdated knowledge of Mesa from 5 years ago. He obviously thinks everyone and everything is still the same.

Let him keep venting. He’s making a fool of himself by demonstrating he has nothing better to do with his time.

As for you fine gentlemen, I hope this is your golden opportunity to kick JO out of the seat and finally get some good senior management in place. I know the companies crappy, I hear about it all the time in the jumpseat with you; but I’ve never had a problem with the crew members and they demonstrate professionalism at it’s best.

Keep your head up and the letters flowing to the bankruptcy judge. Hopefully things will get better for your pilot group sooner than later.
