I'm guessing this is the last UAX Dash flight for MESA. Best of luck to those to be effected or already effected. Furlough is tough. Hope you all get on with a better carrier or find a better line of work.

Default UAL/CAL Rjet needs

************************************************** *******
Another point to Ponder,
Should UAL and CAL actually merge as is not so subtly Rumored.
With only Two added (EWR-IAH) Hubs and one hub in the doubtful category (CLE) and the number of shared hubs DEN-SFO-LAX-HNL-NRT
It is HIGHLY likely that the regional flying might be at a premium. UAL is working to upgrade regional flying to mainline standards for EVERYTHING in the new managment edict to get to the "TOP of the Charts"! They'll NEED regional carriers who will keep their cabin's maintained as well as their airplanes night NOT bode well for Mesa who has the propensity to contract nearly Everything. With carriers like XJT, SKW, ASA, and S5 It's my opinion that SOME regional flying will be redundant an that A UAL/CAL combination where performance is the ONLY standard will be in a need to streamline operations and thus fly fewer and predominately Larger regional jets to fewer places and use them for "pathfinder" airplanes for New routes. This is from the opinion that the Merged Pilot group WILL have a seat on the UAL BOD even though at present the CAL Pilots do not have that right and the Combines airline WILL need the pilots to be on board with them and thus a possible strengthening of the Scope rather than weakening as is commonly thought of in this regional area of the Pilot Forums. This is the new edict being preached around UAL and Many if not ALL of CAL's perfomamce standards will be adopted even though it is perceived as "doubtful" that many of CAL's upper management will come to Chicago to help run the combined Airline though I might be mistaken as many of the present SVP's and VP's at UAL are VERY Junior with many arriving AFTER the close of CH-11. (March 2006) the problem lies in the question. Which of the present senior managment at CAL WILL come to Chicago?? Let there BE no doubt, We ARE moving to Willis Tower. And there IS Plenty of room for ALL the CAL WHQ folks ,Bless their soon to be Frozen Butts!! WELCOME to the "CHI-TOWN Hustler's CLUB"
PS the REAL "chi-town hustler" was a 1969 Dodge Charger Dragster built by Farcona-Coil and Minnick.

Default May 5th?

Winglet, and anyone else who may know:
Is May 5th an important day for Mesa? Someone in my company who sometimes actually seems to know what he's talking about is of the opinion that Mesa may fold on this day. My impression from reading this thread is quite different, but I wanted to see if I missed something. Thanks

AFAIK Cinco de Mayo holds no signifigance in Mesa's existance. It sounds like your source is going off some verbal wishful thinking he heard.
