Default Mesa Keeps PBS

Mesa and MAG/ALPA have settled concerning the payroll grievances and PBS. Management will rescind it's letter of intent to terminate PBS. Bidding will continue as before along with:

1. line guarantee
2. 100% cancellation guarantee
3. scheduled or actual

The MEC and Negotiating Committee continue to work on the PBS LOA and Reserve LOA.

Now the only question is will the company pay Block or Better correctly or will it continue to pay it's pilots contrary to the contract...

My guess is they will get all three CX in BK court and get to keep PBS.

Basically we lost all the pay of them not paying it correctly in the first place and they get to continue to pay it the way they want to from here on out.

This would be the result of uninformed pilots voting in a weak contract. May this be a lesson to those who failed to understand the art of contract negotiation and the importance of strong, enforceable contract language.

Negotiation should be a required college prerequisite. While common in most of the world, bargaining is not a skill most Americans posess. Contracts are expected to be bargained for; be it for a car, house, business, or labor.

Never, never, never ever accept the first contract proposal because that's all it is, a proposal.
