Mesa puts us in hotels without adequate healthy food options, no outdoor space for running/walking and poor or absent workout facilities, making it difficult to maintain a healthy weight or eating habits - there's an angle.

Now you're blaming Mesa for your fat a**? We all have choices. Choose to not eat the Danish and donuts. Eat an apple or a banana. In the airport don't eat at Burger King eat a salad. Run or walk around the hotel instead of sitting in your room eating.
Quit your whining or quit your job. There's another choice for you.

I'm not overweight, but I'm tempted to pretend to be so to see how much more fat shaming I can elicit.

-Name one hotel you can't go jogging at.

-Pack your food.

-Grab a protein shake from the local 7-Eleven

If that's not the definition of blame everyone else for my actions I don't know what is.

RV5M, I usually agree with you on a lot of points you make, and you seem well educated but this post comes out of left field.

This is not true. Most hotels have some sort of workout room with at least a hamster wheel. It may not be ideal, but it's better than nothing. Even in the absence of a workout room, unless you're stuck in a blizzard you can go for a run outside and do other exercises without weights. I even take resistance bands on trips. They don't take up much space at all in my suitcase.

There's a CA in PHX who takes a completely collapse-able road bike on trips. It folds up and fits in a bag, and he rides all over the place on overnights. He was telling about all of the different gyms and swimming pools he uses for workouts on all of the PHX overnights. You may have to get creative, but there's a way to get it done.

I agree though that sometimes the dining options can leave a lot to be desired. I take a cooler to work so I always have a healthy option.

East coaster, so don't know about LAX or SFO.

CLT- you can run anywhere around the Best Western.

If you have enough time, grab the LYNX train to 6th St Downtown. (10 min ride $1 each way) Charlotte Athletic Club and a Gold's Gym. Both have daily passes for around $5.

Really guys, you can stay in shape,
even get in shape doing this job!
