It's not a wish, it's a fact. But yeah I have to agree with prior121, let's not go touting this on an internet forum.

Besides, your biggest concern about a fast upgrade is that we are able to fill classes, and hire about 400 to 500 people behind you, so you CAN upgrade. Take the total number of pilots at mesa, divide by 2. If your seniority number is around 50 to 60% of that, or you can project it to be there, then you will have a nice quick upgrade. If your hanging around 800's, 700's, you got some time to wait.
Besides, its really in your best interest to learn as much as you possible can right now. Read the CFM from cover to cover, know the GOM, do a few cabin announcements, write up a few MEL's, try to learn as much as you can about being a captain. It's not just about learning to steer the airplane on the ground with the tiller, it's about having the captain attitude, and being able to set the tone and be the decision maker while your doing IOE. You need to demonstrate it. I guarantee you, if this is your first 121 operation, and you upgrade with 1000 hours total 121 time, your going to say to yourself, "What the hell did I get myself into?" It will hit you like a ton of bricks. Either you will grow some chest hair or you may find yourself wishing to be an FO again.

Seconded. Heard an FO in the crew room the other day asking a couple captains how to bid captain and whether he should bid EJet or CRJ. Basically just going on about "enough hours", "fast upgrade", etc. Had to cringe.

You talking passenger announcements? If so, yes they do. Before takeoff and initial descent if they are the PM.
