Default mesa dfw-iad

anybody commuting iad until they can hold dfw? i was told by a new hire you can switch bases with other pilots. doubtful anybody would want to leave dfw for iad though right? how hard is it and will i be crashpadding half the time i iad anyway. i heard a cheap crashpad is around 200 a month ish.

The United side has the best schedules and lines. If you live near by to IAD, it would easily be the best base. As a commuter, not so much, depends where you live. If you get IAD , I'd imagine it would be a very short wait before you got DFW.
I am 100% confident that Mesa is getting more flying down the road, so I wouldnt worry.

I've paid $53 out the door for the Comfort Inn in Dulles. Not amazing but also not as bad as some of the others. If you're on reserve, I believe Altitude Pads is $175/mo. Also, I've traded Dulles for CLT before. Some people want to be there. A trade is worth a shot.

p.s. I overheard an IAD FO in the crew room the other day talking about how bunk it was that guests weren't allowed in their crashpad. Are you kidding? It's for sleeping and quiet. You don't live there yo! If you do, it's not a crash pad.

Nope. Did the real interview years ago and am lucky enough to be flying one of the "shinny" new jets. Hopefully someday I can upgrade to one of the SHINEY new jets.
