The hotel is great. Excellent breakfast, area around the pool is very nice. The air is much, much cleaner than the rest of India and it doesn't stink. The air is drier (3000' msl).

The hotel can set you up with a tour of the area. Descent tour with the obligatory stop at a carpet and jewelry shop. There is a golf course across the street, $40-50 a round including a caddie.

Not much right around the hotel, but overall its a nice layover. Its still India but its the best layover in the country. YMMV.

I spent 10 days there for an air show about 8 years ago and had a great time. Stayed at the Marriott which was fantastic, did lots of sight seeing, had some great food. It is the "Silicone Valley" of India so lots of call centers, computer centers, etc. Lots of folks at the hotel were related to that business.

It's surprising as why an international pilot would think India is in Middle East and not in Asia. Shouldn't this be under "Asia"?
