Question for an F-16 driver

Grease in the ear cups and mouthpiece of the crew chief's headset......
The EPU pin gets pulled in the chocks for an F-16 C/D model (you have two generators). In the old A/B models, you would wait until EOR to pull the EPU pin--you only had a single main generator, so you were only a single failure away from firing the EPU on hydrazine on the ground. I'm such a geek....

Yes you are a geek Bernie.
I remember them pulling it at EOR at MacDill in the C model. But, they had just transitioned from A's so maybe this was holdover.
If I remember, you went through RTU in A's...

I wish, unfortunately i'm still in the mighty tweet scaring the heck out of my IP's. I have a long road until I ever see a Viper.
Good info on the two generators. I had to go asked a bud (another former guard crewchief here at UPT with me) about that as he crewed Block 15 ADF's. I was on 42's so I never dealt with the A models.
The greased headsets is also another great one. That's why you will see them wipe the cups on off before they put them on, at least I always did. It only takes one time!
