how do stealth a/c show up on friendly radar?

B2's and F117's don't show up on primary radar... First time I actually had one on frequency in my sector, I asked each to squawk standby... no primary targets, way cool. Last month had a Gulfstream with a failed transponder in RVSM airspace, FL400.... Invisible airplane... (we don't normally look at primary radar at high alt sectors). Thank God for the "Big Sky Theory" and the back up transponder onboard the aircraft.

I think most fighter pilots just pull their wankers out during admin phases of flight--that is usually enough to get a good RCS. You just have to remember to put your junk away when you fence in.
I'm not sure how that works when a gal is flying...

She just displays her prominent hip/buttock area.

Because pilots of course can't hold altitude worth a salt right? That whole RVSM thing boggles my mind. Not that I really care about flying at 280/270, but it would be nice to get over some weather now and then without asking congress(ATC) for permission like its some huge deal.

The requirement to operate in RVSM has nothing to do with salty pilots being able to hold altitude at or above FL290, I think that most operators are letting George fly anyways. If you are a military driver, lifeguard, certification flight or flying a Lear 24 trying to get up to FL430+, come on up! But because those guys aren't RVSM capable, everybody else has to be kept 5 miles or 2000 feet away while they operate in RVSM airspace... a slight increase in work load. From your avitar it looks like you meet the requirements for the exemption, if you need it to clear weather, ask...

We're not RVSM capable(I know the Superhornets are working to get approved). Most times we don't need to go any higher. I have asked and been denied many times(especially leaving the East coast airspace and into the West coast airspace). I get the RVSM separation criteria, just think its a bit excessive and some exceptions for the rare amount of military traffic can be made to the rules. Then again I dont sit at your scope and see what ya'll deal with.
