Leaving the Air Force and need advice

As mentioned previously, I also recommend working your network. Go through your logbook to see who you have flown with. Every few months during AD I would write down the names of everyone I flew with, and as I learned where they ended up, I'd add that to my list. Not just airlines, but ANG/AFRES, too. Did you save your UPT & PIT records? The names of your IPs are there. How about old recall rosters? Start with your pals that you were closest to that you haven't kept in touch with and see what they might know that can help you.
A couple of tools that I used to great advantage were the AF Portal and the global address function of the AF email. On the top right of the AF Portal is a search function with two tabs on it, one of it is AF White Pages or something similar. My experience has shown that if someone has an AF related job and has an email, it will be there, possibly w/ add'l info, like phone, grade or unit. Sometimes, even if they are only doing an ALO job, you might be able to get contact info. The global address function is even simpler, but casts a less broad net. You could also just fire off emails in the blind to [email protected].
Once you get in touch with folks and find out that Fred from DYS OGV is now at SWA and Trish, your UPT IP that gave you your midphase is a widebody Capt at FDX, you could probably get a seniority list and go from there. I'd be shocked if you can't find 20 folks you know at SWA and double digits at least at all the others. In fact you may find that you know me, and I may have flown with you, FWIW.
I even saw someone broadcast a message on an internal airline forum looking for recs. One of his pals at the company just posted a message - anybody know AF pilot XYZ? He's looking for recs. I don't recommend this as a primary tactic, but who's to say?
I guess this isn't what you were asking about initially, but I still recommend working your network for suggestions. I thought about putting this in a PM, but thought others might benefit... have fun with the trim check and T50XX. You'll miss it when it's gone.
Oh, and one more thought, although these all probably occurred to you already. Fly your ears off while still in the Tone. My best 90 days was 86.7 hours. I was considered for honorary FAIP. Good luck

I think the new USAF email address format is "[email protected]"
