Gates said a few months ago that the Air Force was not doing enough down range? Maybe the KC-45A? Maybe the nuke incident? I'm not sure but it is probably a little bit of the stuff I listed above and much more that I have no idea about. Sad day for the Air Force. Our leadership has not been doing so great lately.

Don't worry, there is a long line of incompetent, brown nose, back stabbers waiting to fill the void. Before we know it, life will be back to the good old, do nothing, but claim all the credit, build your resume on the backs of your subordinates, make a name for yourself, no matter what the cost, "leadership", that we have come to know and love so well!

I don't think those "leadership" techniques and promotion "logic" we know and love will ever go away. There will just be some ridiculous buzzword like "TQM" or whatever to help us "focus on the mission." As if we need any reminders.

Word is that it was the nuke incident. Thank god somebody is sending a high-profile message...they did some lower-level reassignments, and then it looked like it was all getting swept under the rug.
If we can't do strategic systems correctly, can we do ANYTHING right???

SECAF took "administrative" action against some generals last month when he should have fired them. Now he and the chief are paying the price of a political hot potato.

I'm interested to see if this really results in the nuke biz getting more attention, or if this is really just a smokescreen for getting rid of the AF leadership that is not "in step" with Gates' line of thought.

maybe the new "NTAC" leadership will move maintenance out of the flying squadrons and mask the masters degree for promos. the bull**** never ends does it. 11-21-23-29-31-36 you know what those are? my lotto numbers...its my only hope.

Wasn't that whole nuke thing something to do with a B-52 accidently getting loaded with live ord? Isn't something like that a maintenance/ordnance mistake at a pretty low level? Obviously it is a big deal, but its still your sergeants and staff sergeants loading them, right? I'm certainly not discounting this, just wondering how something that appears to be a procedural mistake ends up getting the SecAF fired.
