Just took the test. Used Sheppard Air for prep. There were a couple of questions that I didn't recognize which were probably part of the FAA test question program. Overall, no surprises. Got a 98 (missed 3).

If there were questions on the test that were not on the SheppardAir prep course you should call them. At least in the past they have given you credit/a discount if that was the case.

Thanks for the reminder, but I'm very satisfied with the Sheppard Air product. I guess I should have given a bit more explanation:

FYI, the test program lets you see the questions you missed (just a portion of the question itself and not your answer) at the end of the test. The three I missed were definitely in the Sheppard Air prep software.

I am not one of those folks who will or can just memorize the answers. I like/need to read through the source material, especially on questions that I have trouble with. The new (9A) FAA Instructor Handbook is really a pretty well written publication. I highly recommend downloading it and having it open as you go through the questions. Then use the search box to track down subjects you have questions on. At least for me, it helps solidfy the correct answers.

As I said, very satisfied with Sheppard Air. For reference, I was getting an average of 92.5 on the Sheppard Air practice tests before taking the test.

If anyone is about to take the test, the fees go up by $50 starting on Monday (1 Mar). When I called LaserGrade (PSI) to schedule the test (with AOPA discount), they ask me what day I wanted to take the test. I told them I wasn't sure, so she just left the date open. I paid by CC and that was it. You might be able to use this method to take the test after 1 Mar but pay the current fee, I don't know. (i.e. call and pay for the test before 1 Mar, but tell them you want to leave the testing date open).

No test prep can guarantee what questions will be on the test. Since the FAA can potentially add new questions at any time, you might be the lucky dog who sees a question first before anyone else...in which case you will have to rely on knowledge as opposed to gouge. But those are few and far between, nobody should fail due to new questions.

But if they are willing to give a discount, go for it. They probably just want to hear about new test questions.

Of course no one can guarantee anything - but if you will check out the first sentence under the header of the page and the first bullet then you will see what I was passing on.
It is a good enough gaurantee that IF YOU SEE a question on the test that wasn't on the prep bank then then will give you a discount/refund

The folks at Sheppard Air have been the only ones keeping everyone up on the lastest info on the Mil Comp, and really work to help military pilots. While I know they will quickly honor a refund (and have offered it to my buds without them even asking), I'll give them a bye since they work hard to give the best product in the industry.

Yes, you are correct: I could ask for my money back, but I'm not one to do that. I hired Sheppard Air to prep me to pass the test (score at least 70%). They came through with flying colors. I'm not going after them on a technicality that most likely didn't even affect my test score. I don't fault anyone who would or did, a guarantee is a guarantee.... (P.S. I'm not affiliated with SA in any way, just a very satisfied customer).

Just took the MCI after using Sheppard Air and got 100%. I did a few hours over four nights...10 hours total of studying (only because I actually read a lot of the explanations for my own knowledge). You can easily pass the test using their prep material in 5 or 6 hours. I haven't flown GA in 19 years but their prep makes it easy. I plan to use them when I take my ATP written in a few months. Highly recommend the SA boys.
