I'll add one more question to his list about the Air National Guard...
I've heard people say you need a bachelors degree to join up as an officer and start flying.
Is a "bachelors" degree really neccessary? Or is there just a certain amount of college credits needed, like for instance could a person with two associates degrees get accepted as if he had one bachelors degree?

You will need a bachelors to fly in any service except the army. There have been very rare opportunities for navy enlisted to acquire a flight slot without a degree.

You need an accredited bachelors to join any military branch as a commissioned officer. If you enlist first, you can sometimes get a commission later with an associate or similar coursework.

Rickair is spot on. If you dont have a degree, you should consider army warrant officer. They dont require a degree, yet offer some really incredible flying opportunities. I have a friend who is a helo-warrant officer pilot and he flies some crazy missions. Great flying experience in all facets

Thanks for the info so far. My understanding was that AF Reserve only took active AF for pilot slots, so I didn't think it was an option. I'll look into it more. Trying for a CBP pilot slot isn't an option for me right now, as I would have to leave the Border Patrol to fly for them. I understand I have a long, uphill battle with this that I may never win, but I'll see how far I can get.
I don't get the bolded part. I'm pretty sure that I met a pilot for CBP at the MCAS Yuma airshow who was a border agent like yourself and moved into the aviation side of CBP.USMCFLYR
