Default Lone Survivor

Any of you guys ever read the book Lone Survivor, by Marcus Luttrell.

When I was active duty I spent a lot of time countering the statement "this younger generation just isn't as good or have what it takes". I have said on this forum many times, the younger generation is not only as good as we were they are better. They have the same dedication and drive we all had, but they have better equipment, better training and ability to learn from our past mistakes.

When I read this book I couldn't help but feel proud of our US military, but mostly, it reafirms what I have been saying all along.

I'm reading it now, its a damn good book. Inspiring would be an understatement.

Check out Apache by Ed Macy. I enjoyed it.

Great book! I read it while attending SERE C in flight school. It was among the "top reads" in the class.

Very great book. Amazing amount of heroism and sacrifice on Marcus' and his comrades part.

Agreed, saying that it is inspirational is not doing the story justice.

Anyone remember several months ago when Marcus Luttrells dog was killed in cold blood at his own home? Those men had no idea who they were messing with.

The book really got me interested in Michael P. Murphy, who died in the fight.

Really an impressive citation for his Medal of Honor. God bless him.
