Shooting at Ft. Hood

Non-Sequitors
Some things don't make sense to me about this:
1. If the FBI and Army Intel suspected he was making posts on extremist websites, why wasn't there further investigation?
2. Medical and Religious personnel fall into a different category under the Geneva Conventions and are considered 'non-combatants.' As such, they are afforded special conditions if captured, and should not be actively engaged in combat.
However, those protections are revoked if they do anything offensive...like shoot a weapon. (There may be a caveat that the shooting could be defensive, but I couldn't find it in a quick search...it's been a while since I've had the briefing).
So, why was a member of the Medical Corps being given weapons training? Or advanced weapon training?
3. If the authorities had suspicions about him, wouldn't that affect his security clearance? I would guess all docs must have at least a Secret clearance.
And if he lost his Secret clearance, wouldn't that stop him from getting weapons training?
AZ, if he even recovers, he will never feel remorse. They think they are answering a higher-calling...his only regret is he didn't kill more. I hope he recovers to live in excruciating physical pain...before they execute him, via firing squad, for treason.
Too bad we can't deal with him the same way the Italians did with Mussolini after WWII.

Just saw this quote out of a TIME article on-line
This infuriates me That Major was no where NEAR the front lines. He was getting ready to go sit near the front lines when he supposedly snapped.
I hope that the Army sends him to a General Courts Martial and brings back some old practices from April 13, 1961.

You know - it doesn't always have to be someone/something elses' fault. Sometimes people are just evil and do evil things.

As an army psychiatrist treating soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, Major Nidal Malik Hasan had a front row seat on the brutal toll of war.

I don't know about the "advanced" weapons training, but if I'm not mistaken medical personel are given weapons so they can defend their patients in combat.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course everyone should be given weapons training. It is the Military not a sewing party. My question is why has the Media not called this guy an Islamic Terrorist?

Because of their suicidal-like desire to be PC. PC has also deeply infliltrated the military (saw it all the time in the AF). PC is ruining this country. No one has the balls to call a spade a spade any more. Everyone is afraid of what someone else may think of them to everyone's detriment. It's pathetic really. I'm sure some of you out there think I'm a neanderthal (sp?) for even saying this. You can pound sand.
Peace.

The Dead of Fort Hood were sacrificed on the altar of Political Correctness.
The warning signs were there, this guy was pretty blatant about denigrating the US out loud, yet since he was Muslim, he was given a wide latitude since it is now better to not offend anyone rather than confront someone and maybe step on a few toes.
