I'm not exactly sure how to apply those percentages you listed to the Blue 21 requirements.

Sorry I couldn't provide better info.

A CG Recruiter could care less about some obscure aviation officers program.
You have to do your own leg work my friend. Don’t stop with one phone call.

Thanks for the info guys...

I was trying to be a little humorous about all this... I'm sure a few of you got a laugh... or not.

Time to talk to a recruiter.

Thanks again.

You may luck out and get a recruiter from an aviation rate (AMT/AVT/AST). Otherwise, definitely do your own research so you can be an educated "customer". My guess is ERAU won't qualify (but I've been wrong before).

Dude, it took me 15 seconds to Google a Blue-21 page and find this (to include the bold part):
1. Have a degree in any aviation, aeronautical and aerospace program from a qualifying four-year institution (one with a 25 percent or greater minority population, not including international students.)
2. Have a degree in any engineering-related program from a qualifying four-year institution.

....and the list goes on

Go to airwarriors.com and go to the Coast Guard section and do a search. You'll find tons of info.

Just went to a recruiter... complete waste of time... apparently they cancelled the Blue-21 program this year, and have in the past, and will continue to. I guess they like to hire from within, and if they have enough applicants come through OCS and make it through to a pilot slot they will do away with the Blue-21 route.

Not to discourage you, keep tiring till you are satisfied. But, you need to understand, that with the current shambles that the aviation industry is in right now, allot of military pilots are staying in and holding on to their coveted flight positions. So yes, CG pilot slots are probably getting full with a waiting list, just like everyone else.
Call anther recruiter.

Cargo Man's right....we are OVERSATURATED with pilots right now (especially fixed wing) and to make things worse, the ones at the top are stagnating and not going anywhere.

I'm not saying don't pursue it if you want it, just that it's a likely cause as to why Blue 21 went away.

Understandable as to why it's over-saturated, and their reasons for essentially canceling the Blue-21 program... the recruiter said there's always applying for OCS and "hoping" you could get a pilot slot.... as most of you know there's NO guarantees in life, I'm a pilot and have been for a long time now... there's no way I'd take a "chance" and hope to get a slot... my luck I'd get stuck on a boat, or become a chef or something crazy.

Thanks for all the help though guys.
