God I am sure that will go over great.

Take it easy Dick, im doing the research on here. Next time you see one of my posts do yourself a favor. Take the time that you would use to write a foolish remark on my post and do something else.

Perhaps his reply wasn't PC enough for you. Having said that, you'd better get a thick skin my friend.

Everything you thought you knew about aviation is going to change....for the better. However, don't think this road will be easy. Don't know your experience but I've had the displeasure in the past of washing out 1000 hour plus CFI's because the didn't want to accept the new paradigm.

You'll also be coming through my current neck of the woods where I currently work shortly. Many gray beards like me at IFS. Folks that, like me, started training UPT students before you were even born.

What is it you are going to tell me about the military or aviation in general? Everything you thought you knew is about to change. Accept it or fail. Your choice.

Good luck to you. I'll be the guy next to you giving instruction.

Frats,
Lee

I just wish the first reply would have been "It depends, what base and class will you be in?"

Mustang, you are learning a very valuable lesson early. As with every other career, we have our D-bags too! Get used to it, especially while you're in AETC...

No Scrap, that goes in the "I wish" category. I just retired this past Dec w/ about a 50/50 split on AD/Guard time.

And, I stand corrected on the "can't make you live on base" thing. I sort of remember that option being unavailable for some of my UPT bros now that I think about it, but it's been a looooong time.

...You're right... anyone who turns to the internet forums for answers is CRAZY...

(all in good fun, Adler)

:D Nice job w/ the search. You need to lay off the Law and Order reruns, I think.

In my defense, I never said using this board is "stooping" or bad option i.e. "crazy". It's just usually not my first stop when I have the option to make a phone call and ask someone whose job it is to know the answer.

Oh, I have dealt with the people who's "job" it is to know the answer...and for that reason, that would be my last choice! I agree with the poster. Posting on a forum like this is one of many effective means of getting questions answered; who cares if it was his first choice? Eh, but maybe that's just how LT's think:o
