Hey guys,
I just wanted to get some of your points of view.
I applied to a unit that I am really interested in. I was told when I forwarded my information that they would get in contact with me when they have info for the next board. That was back in mid-December.
I want to know if you think it would be alright to give them a call to check up. I don't want to come across as impatient, especially because information for the next board might not be set in stone, but at the same time I don't want to seem passive.
Thanks guys. Happy New Year.

If it is a unit that is highly competitive to get into, I don't think the hiring board would view a "Thanks for considering my application and I look forward to the results of the board" letter, Thank-you card, or phone call.
I heard of all those things in my unit. Everything I ever heard from the powers-that-be were positive when guys checked-up on their status.
When I was in a hiring capacity at a Part 135 company, I viewed those who showed no follow-up as not very interested.
Good luck...hope it works for you.

UAL, thanks for your advice..I'll definitely be giving them a call soon.
Huggy, the unit is in a different state than I am. I know visiting units are a big part of the application process. Once I get in contact with them again, I want to set up a visit.
Thanks guys.
