Shaw AFB, in Sumter SC has RF-4, RF-101, RB-66, O-2, and an A-10 (with a green Iraqi star from a helo shootdown.) They are all just inside the front gate. There's also a viper more toward the center of the base.

Hurlburt has an impressive Air Park - granted, all the planes have ties to SOF/Air Commandos, but they run the gamut...O-1, O-2, Helio-Courier, OV-10, T-28, A-37, UH-1, AC-130A, AC-119K, AC-47, MC-130E, MH-53M, C-46, A-26, A-1E, C-123, B-25, and maybe a couple others.
There's also the Eglin Air Armament Museum - outside are statics of dozens of planes. I also remember that Dyess had a pretty impressive gate guard display. Nellis has a few on a stick near the Red Flag building - and their intel "petting zoo" is interesting. RAF Lakenheath has Spitfire, P51, F111, & F15 if I recall correctly...all on sticks. ;) Pope used to have a few, but I haven't been there for years...not sure what's there now. |
Moody just opened their airpark this year. Among the notables: Hawg, Thud, and A-7, but the centerpiece is a P-40 Warhawk. Theme is the lineage from the original AVG Flying Tigers.

Had one of those in front of the chow hall @ NAS Memphis. Appears that it's still there.

Burke Lakefront (BKL) in Cleveland, Ohio has a pair of Phantoms, one painted in AF Thunderbird colors, the other as a Navy Blue Angel... I remember seeing both teams flying the F4's as a kid....
First time I saw an aircraft that I flew (actual tail number!) on a static display, I chuckled... Pig on a stick. |

It's amazing how many of these I've seen and forgotten about. thanks to all who replied.
One more in Beaufort. F86 in a playground downtown. They removed it many, many years ago. |
