Default Preference Points for Military Veterans?

Hello, I am just curious to know if Airlines give preference points for Veterans when it comes to hiring? I know Police Departments do this, not sure if it's the same for the Airlines. Thanks.

Most airlines (esp. majors) will view military service favorably since the airline culture evolved from the military culture ad they value some of the same traits (grooming, punctuality, reliability, etc). This includes non-pilot military service.

That's a minimum check in the box, it's really all about who you know.

Previous (non-pilot) military experience might serve as a tie breaker, but will not substitute for flight time or internal connections.
