Predator Hours count for.......

we have been having a discussion here at my base and i thought i would turn to the masses to see if anyone has any gouge on the subject.
thanks!

Despite the fact that many military helicopters are faster and higher performance than most civilian light piston twins... Requires more skill and training and don't even begin to compare the complexity of twin turbine helicopter systems to a hershey bar with a couple of air cooled lawn mower engines hanging off.

On a similar subject, how is T-6 time viewed for the airlines? Doesn't seem like it counts for much, being SE turboprop. Seems like they only want ME Turbine or SE/ME Jet, ignoring SE turbine.

It still counts towards total time...........but you need more time in bigger equipment.......1500hrs PIC in a MEL Turbine a/c with Gross weight greater that 12,000 LBS is what you should strive to acquire.

Well, it's still 120 hours or so (for Navy flight school) of turbine, high performance, complex flight time. Consider that most civilians will never even get to fly turbine equipment at all until they get hired by an airline. T-6 time will put you that much further ahead. I'm an old fart, but my T-34C Mentor time counted just fine. And once you get winged, take the FAA test ($50 or so) and convert your military training over and get commercial ASEL/instrument and commercial rotorcraft - helicopter/instrument all in one easy step! I wish after being designated a Navy helo instructor I could have converted and gotten my CFI/II, but the FAA wouldn't allow that so I added those on (along with MEL, MEI) via the civil route after I got out.

Yeah, really! Check out the thread in Pilot Health about people wondering if it's okay and if they'll get hired for being fat azzes...
Sounds like a couple of those guys might need to be "ramp typed" and have a personal w&b done before even boarding!
