Of course, it's not going away so might as well enjoy it- it sure is shiny and pretty and will make lots of noise at the airshow for the next 40 years

I'll have to disagree with you here cactipilot.
I think that aircraft is one UGLY step-sister - and I'm particularly disgusted with the 'B' version.

It's a piece of junk...it can't carry much of anything, only has one engine, and is ridiculously expensive compared to some of our legacy costs with little improvement over existing platforms. Glad (hope) I am retiring in 6 months.

Not to mention its limited to 250 kts and 3 Gs right now. Sounds like an A-10.

There's plenty of info out there- just look at the CBO or GAO reports for some insight. I was being slightly sarcastic about its shiny and pretty look, USMCFLYER I'll say I've seen it in person and it looks better up close, but that doesn't change the fact that a single engine jet in carrier ops should not have come to fruition, and the Bravo version may have the propensity to be a highly expensive platform that may, along with the V22, handcuff Marine Corp Aviation for the foreseeable future. I do wish the Corps just bought Supers and the Navy walked away to wait for a better multi engine platform as well... Well at least a relative of mine is going to be a maintainer in Yuma on them so he'll be getting some time to finish his degree

Canada cancelled it's contract this week. Might make it again but basically too much money for too little jet.

I've said it many times before and still believe that the Corps will see 'Fs' instead of an all F-35B force.

I think the public statement is just the AIr Force saying "See, we aren't backing out of the contract..." tryng to save face.

I still think it will be severely curtailed, if not outright cancelled, by the "Fiscal Cliff," next month.

But these types of public statemetns will make the Air Force seem not at fault. Yeah...........
