Navy Reserve RMP List
#11
They are not NOSC readiness requirements. They are Navy requirements. Requirements that in the RESFORON world got done without much fanfare, just like in an AD command. Agree with previous poster that problem is Big Navy not validating requirements and RESFOR isn't in habit of saying no to FFC. Even worse after move to down the street from FFC.
Bottom line: If you are in the Reserves drawing pay, you can be mobilized. If you dont want to take that chance, act accordingly. But AG is lovely this time of year!

Of course they are, and it's been made clear that it's now the priority. But the NOSCs are under so much pressure that they do silly things...such as require flex drillers to drill at the NOSC for certain evolutions to pre-emptively ensure they don't miss GMT or whatever. They also had a problem with people showing up NPQ (ie not MOB ready) on the first of the month their PHA was due, so they started scheduling people (without any advance coordination) for PHA exams 3 months early, essentially forcing us into a 9-month PHA cycle.
We used to get graded on operational support delivered, not strategic readiness. Operational support feels is more satisfying too. That's all I was saying.
Do we really expect our folks to go IRR anytime they have a temporary career or personal life transition? Enlisted and JO's could maybe do that, but senior officers would lose their pay billet for at least a year and would be at risk of not getting another one ever.
We should probably have a process to obtain a one-year MOB exemption due to reasonable personal challenges. If you are on the RMP, you just get automatically rolled to the next one. Yes I know you can submit a waiver request, but thhey are not in the habit of approving those. They may need a written policy as to what exactly qualifies for an waiver.
All that said, we do have people (and many of them senior) who have no intention of ever MOBing and will go IRR or more likely retire the day they show up on the RMP. I don't have any sympathy for them.

I know several that thought they dodged the RMP for FY12 only be called VERY recently. There were several jobs posted on the RCC site this last week. Seems if you are a 13XX then the only places you can go are Afghanistan or Gitmo. That is all I have been seeing.
Spoke with more than a few people on the RMP for FY13. ALL are going to the IRR. If I were a betting person I would say if you are an officer on the RMP, pack your bags. Look for orders very soon.

When I MOB'd 6 years ago, we had a few IRR types, pretty sure the ones I knew didn't want to be there. Right now they are only taking volunteer IRR types. That being said, it could always change...
IRR Mobilization
Concerning the RMP, very few of the folks on it in my unit went anywhere in FY12. It's all a roll of the dice, and not worth losing any sleep or good years over... Best of Luck!

Internally, I knew there were alot of 13XX billets out there they have been there for quite some time. I was hoping with only 11 days in the RMP 12 window I'd be good, but not so much. The long poll for the sourcing seems to be dudes with active clearances. Lots of fluidity in the billets, will be interesting to see how many of them remain. As for me, my intent is to suck it up and go do the MOB. I don't have written orders yet so theoretically I could go IRR still, but I still have 4 and change left to 20 so thats alot of IRR coloring books for a reduced retirement. It is what it is.
