Interview Prep
As many of us are getting ready for airline interviews you should all consider some kind of course that will get you ready for the big day. I heard about a company called Emerald Coast Interview Consulting through a friend of mine and was told I had to attend one of their seminars. I attended one of their seminars yesterday and let me tell you this is a MUST to get you prepared for an airline interview. Aaron and his team are true professionals and are extremely effective at getting you ready for the questions that will be asked in the interview and the CRM exercise. They helped me prepare for an ANG interview over the phone and the three hours I spent with them definitely helped me get the job. You are a client for life with Emerald Coast so I decided to attend a seminar as well.
These questions can be very hard and if you haven't practiced what you are going to say you will mess it up. I've had a lot of public speaking experience and have always felt that I could nail any interview but when so much is riding on what comes out of your mouth sometimes you just sound like a moron. I recommend doing this early because you probably need to attend more than one seminar. Good luck to everyone but if you want to land an airline job of your dreams and not lose it because of something stupid you said during the interview, then attend one of these seminars. The military guys should get this.
FOOT STOMP FOOT STOMP FOOT STOMP Call ECIC |
To add....
I received an email at my current AETC base about ECC actually coming to said base if you get enough folks. I don't know any details outside of that....but, it may be to your benefit to get a few bro's together to see if it's more cost effective for you to roll that way. Also, you can search other forums areas for Emerald/ECC, etc and get additional *positive* info...! |
Is there a recommended specialty/airline for Emerald Coast?
EC is familiar with all the airlines' interview profiles and will tailor your individual preparation accordingly. That said, I think the skills gained are invaluable for any interview, whether it's for an airline pilot job or not.
I did it back in 2005. It was incredibly helpful and I credit ECIC with helping me get hired at my airline. I had not actually "interviewed" for a job in my entire life until I separated from AD and had my first airline interview. It was eye opening, to say the least. Highly recommend them.

Great advice... Appreciate it
Other than ECIC does anybody have any experience with the other ones out there?

Emerald Coast and Judy Tarver
Do all of the interview prep companies (or at least Emerald Coast and Judy Tarver) have the specific and updated interview gouge for all the majors? Guess that is the reason it is not publicly available on the web - someone's getting paid for it! And by all the rave reviews, rightfully so...
Clark Aviation Consulting - no "group" prep and comprehensive. Excellent...and doesn't shamefully promote her own services on the chat boards pretending to be someone else...LOL...
Thanks for the info

Interview Prep
I used ECC last month and they were awesome. Highly recommend them. I haven't used any others but Emerald Coast was great. I'm definitely one of those satisfied customers.
0 for 1 at a major before EC. 2 for 2 after EC. Best money I have ever spent.
Aaron at EC is definitely an upstanding guy. He is good for his word.
They are doing one for us Herk guys October 3rd in Little Rock if anyone is interested.
Vandal, I'm interested. Sent you a PM.

I just called ECIC yesterday and what a great group of folks! Started listening to the audio prep last night and looking forward to chatting with a counselor shortly. I may also try the online seminar....I was told they added another in October. Can anyone confirm?
I just saw 25 October on the website for the new online seminar date.
BTW - I started the ECIC audio course last night...one word -- awesome! |
Interview Prep
Cage Consulting in Denver was awesome too. Had a few guys at our squadron do EC with nothing but good things to say. Cage did a group discount for 10 of us and it was awesome. They are based out of Denver and do a few road shows. Give them a call and ask for Angie. If you come for the United Interview I would seriously consider them.
For United sim prep call Flight Training International (FTI). You do the prep in the exact sim you have your interview in which is helpful.
19 Oct session at Beale AFB
Emerald Coast is worth every penny. I truly believe it helped me obtain my job at FedEx.
^^^^^^Ditto for me at UAL.
AH does a good job... after I got hired I went back to EC with the 'client for life' clause and used the Beauty Pageant prep.... best money I ever spent...
Needs to update his webpage..... |
Anyone know if Rob Beeks is still doing interview prep?
Full believer in Emerald Coast, but never seems one within easy travel time. Anyone ever done the online version? Seems easiest for my schedule, though a lifetime of CBTs makes me leery of learning from computer.
Make the trip if you have the ability. You get a lot more out if it in person. Webinar is a good 90% solution if you just can't make it work though.
