Maineiacs are one of the few great guard units left (my reserve unit is excellent too). If I was shopping around for units I would definitely put you guys at the top of the list. You and Pease. And Peterson c21

Thanks for the overwhelming responses for a pilot position with the Maine Air National Guard. If you're still interested in a pilot position with us, please continue to apply through normal channels with the link provided: 101st Air Refueling Wing, Maine Air National Guard - Fact Sheet (Printable) : UNDERGRADUATE PILOT TRAINING (SUPT) APPLICATION WORKBOOK

Air Force Personnel Center - AF Fitness Program

We have former helo guys flying in the unit.

Hiring bonus: you get an extra patch on your flight suit in addition to stickers.
Just gave myself a quick and dirty USAF fitness test and scored off the charts provided.. 77.1 points, since I get 0 for a 42" abdominal circumference..

I can max out all but run, and do run in 10:00, and that's a 6,000 feet here in Wyoming. Unless I starve myself to single digit bodyfat, <39 isn't going to happen.

The PT standards have changed somewhat. If you fail the waist but still pass the test (75 of 80 remaining points) then you will have your BMI taken. If your BMI is <25 you pass, if higher then a body fat measurement is done. For men that number must be <18%, for women <25%. Based upon what you posted, there might be a chance...

The waist measurement is the most ridiculous thing ever. I have a 30 inch waist and I still think it's dumb. That directly reflects on the competence and lack of common sense of our leadership. If they wanted to squeak in an appearance standard, they should have done so separately. I'm surprised there hasn't been a congressional inquiry/lawsuit on this yet

Do the Maineiacs still have their annual lobster bake? Back in the 70's I got to attend one of these. What a great time. The next day as we were getting ready to leave, a flight of four Canadian F-101s who enjoyed the party were calling for their clearance. Someone's head wasn't really clear yet as no flight plan had been filed. The ever helpful controller (who had also been at the party) told them it would be no problem; just needed destination, route, altitude, and speed and they could get them on their way. F-101 Lead calls back and says: "I want to go directly home, I want to go low and I want to go fast." No problem, clearance showed up in about two minutes!! I guess getting a bunch of Guard and Reserve airplanes together for something like this is probably not going to happen in this day and age.

We still have the lobster bake, although it's mostly current and retired MAINEiacs, with a standing open invite to all aircrew.
