Unless you want to save $2 (really cheap AF pilot) you can get the English proficiency online!
English Proficiency endorsement ? What it means to you

Anyone know if I can renew my CFII a year early (prior to the 2 year point). I know it will reset the date but I am retiring as an AF IP in June and would be nice not to have to do the online course for 2 more years versus next year when it is normally due.

Thanks...didn't know that--much better than a 2 hour drive plus bridge tolls to go the FSDO for an appt that I can't even get. Guess I'll pass on the L-300 type.

I signed up with these guys 10 years ago for a lifetime CFI renewal course(if they don't go out of business). They also process the paperwork for $25. They allow me to renew three months early. Listen to the video.

I don't think you have to have a commercial or ATP ... a private owner can fly a King Air on a private license, can't he? A commercial or ATP aren't necessarily required to get a type rating ... I was in the process of working with a local business owner and the two of us were going to get a type rating in an A6M3 Zero (bragging, I know!), and he only has a private license.
You are probably correct. Most mil guys don't bother too much with their private license since they can get a commercial right out of flight school. I have never even thought about it.

In theory yes. The reality is that insurance will typically drive any turbine pilot to at least the instrument rated CPL level.

If you are talking a type rating then Yes, I would get it added to your ticket!

Regarding pulling up FAA regs and using them to guide an FAA examiners decisions--this never worked very well in my few cases. Some just seem to interpret things differently and/or are ex military or know the military system and are able to make it work.
For my case above, one examiner expected me to buy civilian time in a learjet (thousands of dollars) and do a civilian ATP checkride, another wanted me to just get V1 cuts done in a civilian sim (500 dollars), another said it couldn't be done, and I finally flew 800 miles to a FSDO that gave me the checkride himself and military comped me for everything based on air force sims/checkrides and FAA testing. I used the same reg references for all four of these and couldn't get another to see it the way another saw it.

I too paid for american flyers over a decade ago and I use it when I have to renew when I am at staff and not currently flying (no current check ride). But my question is since I am a current IP, can I renew now at the 1 year point so that I can push the 6 hours of CBT 2 years out versus doing it a year from now. I am not in my 3 month renew window until next spring.

In regards to the second half of your post, I thought you could get the L300 type rating added at commercial privilege level with just paperwork, no sims, no checkrides just present your Air Force training records.

The only addition I have is that type ratings aren't restricted to commercial privileges.
8900.1 Vol. 5, Ch 2, Sec 19, Conduct a Pilot Type Rating Certification
"An aircraft type rating may be added to a Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, or ATP Certificate. However, type rating practical tests are conducted to a single standard for all certificate levels. Regardless of the grade of certificate held, an applicant must meet the standards for a type rating in the ATP and/or type rating practical test standards (PTS). All type ratings within category and class held on a superseded certificate are carried forward to the new certificate level without further testing. For military pilots applying under the provisions of part 61, § 61.73, a type rating may be upgraded to the ATP Certificate level."

Is there a time limit of how far back you can add a type?
I have a bunch of H-60B time, last I flew it was 2006, and it's equivalent to an S-70 from what I have been told.
Also, doubt it, but is there an E-2C type equivalent?
