Default Late pay checks?

I work for a flight school in FL. We are paid on 1st and the 15th of the month. Since I have started our pay checks have been late at least four times. Usually only one day late but on one occasion they were two days late. Is this legal? Is there anything I can do? Thank you.

Oh, finally a legal question that I can help answer! Thank you!

Seriously, this is a question of state law. I do not know anything about Florida labor laws or if it has the equivalent of Washington State's Department of Labor and Industries (L&I). My advice is to call the employment folks in Florida and ask them. In Washington, employers are obligated to pay employees on the day it said it would pay, not a day late or a penny short. Relief can be found by calling L&I and filing a claim. Perhaps Florida has a similar rule.

When were your paychecks late? If you get paid on the 1st and the 15th, but a pay day falls on a weekend (Sat/Sun), some state laws allow the employer to carry over payday to the next business day.

Yes, I understand that if a payday falls on the weekend or a holiday, it would actually be on the next business day. Such as this past 15th on a Sunday we were not paid until Tuesday.
On a previous payday on a Thursday we were not paid until Monday.

Do you have direct deposit or do you get a paper check?

I own a small business and I sometimes pay my employees late because I have to wait on money from customers. It may be a case like that.
