Default Owning a Crash pad

I have a little bit of spare money, would a crashpad be a good investment. Thinking one near DFW or PHX?

Anyone here own one?

Have you ever stayed in one?
Pilots only or pilots and FA’s?
Male/female only or coed?
You have any idea of the drama llamas you’ll be herding unless you install a kampfkommandant?

* Disclosure : I’ve been kampfkommandant of a coed Crashpad.

It’s like you are living inside a reality tv show

So much drama and entertainment and I canceled cable

Yes I've stayed in them, currently commuting to DFW from PHX. I am not aware of much drama but I keep my head down. Is pilot only best? Does coed work?

IMO pilot only is best (female pilots are fine).

My coed/all-crew crashpad experiences included getting the door kicked in (literally) by police because a distraught FA was locked in the basement threatening suicide on social media.

A buddy recently bailed on a crashpad that catered to all airport employees... the fuel truck guy would come in late reeking of jet fuel, hang his fuel-soaked clothes by the bed and turn in. My buddy starting having headaches and other neurological symptoms from the fumes.

OTOH, once I opened the door to my semi-private room (shared by another guy who was rarely there) and walked in on two (female) FA's getting it on in my bed. They were contrite, and to make it up said I could join them...

I would now only stay in a pilot-only pad, and would pay more for the privilege.

Even our distinguished pilot community has it share of dirty, stinky, flakey off the wall, hunting off the reservation kinda types.
Have hard rules and somebody to enforce them.
I got $100 discount every month for the privilege of being kampfkommandant but definitely had to sleep with one eye open some nights.
Hell has no fury as a FA scorned...

Excellent reasons not to commute, add in the possibility of divorce and it explains why my choices never involved a commute that involved flying.

I stayed in one briefly, many years ago. I came in one night to find a .45 Colt revolver in my face, manned by a drunk who had taken a dislike to the landlord. I wasn't the landlord, but his discretion was not a fine point that evening.

I bunk either with the wife or a solo hotel room; no crashpads.
