Default Bank of choice

Any recommendations on banks for checking/saving? My current bank decided to close all branches within my state (don’t ask why, no idea) but now I’m in search of a bank that may be better for pilots or at least people who travel around often. I.e. free atm usage typically outside of the us, cheaper rates, etc. any thoughts? I heard Charles Schwab is a good one for free atm usage almost worldwide. Thanks

Ex military?
If so USAA is great and understands international travel...they also rebate ATM fees, and have good apps and easy, free, online bill paying.
Honestly, with direct deposit, haven't paid a few, even for express delivery of a new CC in YEARS.

I used Charles Schwab for years as my primary account. Good deal if you don't need local (branch) help regularly. ATM deal is great but others offer something similar, need to ask around. I believe they will pay up to $10 per month in other banks fees (rebated after the transaction goes though). If you plan well, most (international) ATM's for real banks (not the for profit ATM's that are becoming more common in the US and starting to see in airports and train stations overseas) are free, any bank will work, even the big US banks that pass along all charges.

International if you can get the top tier status for Citibank they usually waive all fees and service is pretty good at the actual bank locations. Branches all over the world, atms usually easy to find in most major cities. Exchange rates are spot and no fees if you plan ahead.

Minimum balances are pretty high though
