I'm sure that CA is expecting to keep getting a lot of tax revenues off of silicon valley. Apple and Alphabet have some nice big headquarters buildings there.
Just fly to AZ or NV, rent one there, drive back to CA to load up and head to your final destination.

And if you're equating being fairly subjected to the tax code like everyone else is having "the entire weight of the State come down upon them like the furious winds of an angry god" then perhaps the problem is the tax code?
Thats a lot words just to say you have no idea how inheritance/death taxes work. And that's okay. I'm just glad Big Brother is here to make us all equal, fair and happy. If it wasn't for other people coveting their neighbors wealth who knows where we'd be as a society.

huh?

how do you equate closing a loophole to “coveting their neighbors wealth”?

Does that include vehicles that are electric? As I see it, they are not paying gas tax, so are escaping paying for the roads.

If you had ever dealt with the Franchise Tax Board, you wouldn’t even have to ask. They grab on to anybody within their reach, and hold on like a Gila monster…

I remember a certain famous radio talk show host who moved from New York to Florida. New York State kept auditing him every year, for years. Had to prove he did not work each and every day in New York state.

Default First they came for the billionaires…

But being very mobile, most of those bailed for Austin and Denver, leaving behind the middle class to pay the taxes…

The liberal/moderate wing of the party seems to be revolting against progressive excesses. They just crushed a universal health care bill too.

I'm vaguely optimistic that the pendulum is starting to swing. It's like the establishment was giving their precocious and unruly children a little too much leeway because they weren't sure how far it would go, but have now realized it's time for some adulting.

Personally I think it’s all those illegal immigrants who have come from countries where those who weren’t industrious just didn’t make it and have often paid a huge price to get to the promised land. Having finally arrived, they have little interest in letting the radicals screw up this country too. Unlike the spoiled children, they realize what an opportunity they have here.
